Meditation Sits
Sits are fundamental to our practice. Through stillness and a quieting of the mind we can develop self-awareness (mindfulness), cultivate insight (vipassanā), and reduce stress. We offer sits both in-person and on Zoom.
Weekday Sits
Regular, in-person sits are held from 5:30pm-6:00pm (Mon-Fri).
Sunday Sits
We meet each Sunday from 9:30am to 10:00 am. Followed by a Dharma Talk or Dharma Discussion from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.
Zoom Access : Connect with us by using this Zoom link.
Sits are staffed by volunteers. Please contact Sam Demas (sdemas@carleton.edu), Fred Howe (Howe.fred@gmail.com), or Ken Harter (kennethharter@msn.com) for information on volunteering.
The sit sign-up form can be found in Google Sheets with this link.
The Northfield Buddhist Meditation Center is home to people who are very sensitive to chemicals and fragrances, both synthetic and “natural.” Please read our policy on fragrances and scents here.
