Volunteer

NBMC thrives because of the generosity of its members. As such, we rely on the sangha to sustain us both financially and on a day-to-day basis. Here are some important ways to get involved and support the center:

Sign up to open for a sit. This can be during the week for an evening sit at 5:30pm or on Sundays for our morning sit at 9:30am.

Offer to clean the center. This is one way we offset the cost of rent.

Help to maintain the NBMC website. This includes updating our events calendar and recordings page. We also have a YouTube channel and often need help posting videos of Dharma talks.

Help to find, organize and invite Dharma Teachers. If you have ideas, or would like to help with this, contact the NBMC Board.

Bring in flowers and/or treats for Dharma talks and sits. We welcome these at regular times, but are especially for our special events.

Consider serving on the Board. At our annual meeting, we will often announce a need for new board members.

Maintain the library. We need people to pay attention to books checked out that could be returned or need shelving, and someone to have a familiarity with what is available in the library.

If you have other talents or ideas for how to help the center, please reach out to a member of the NBMC Board or fill out our contact form.
